SMS-SME Signs New Contract with Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard

We are delighted to announce that SMS-SME has signed a new contract with Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation. This collaboration involves supplying a complete hatch cover system for four (4) 38,000-ton multi-purpose heavy-lift ships, commissioned by Korea’s largest shipping company, HMM.

Each vessel will feature three cargo holds, and SMS-SME will design and deliver an advanced hatch cover system tailored to meet the ships' specific needs. The system includes hydraulic folding hatch covers and hoisting tween deck hatch covers, ensuring optimal functionality with innovative and customized solutions.
