Container ship sizes are getting big, and
Lashing Bridges are also becoming higher and bigger from 1 or 2 tier to 3 or 4 tier as the worldwide trend.
To cope with such a trend in the
market, SMS has developed the Lashing Bridge, which will increase the container loading capacity suitable to
Mega-Container ships up to 20,000 TEU class.
SMS's 3-tier type Lashing Bridges were designed not only to improve the efficiency
of container loading but also to strive for the safe working of stevedores by fully complying with the new safety
requirement of CSS code.
SMS will supply them to Samsung Heavy Industries for 3 ships of 17,000TEU class (CMA
CGM) shortly.
