In 2016, SMS-SME
delivered a hatch cover and lashing bridge system to the Hyundai Mipo Shipyard
in Korea to build a full refer-container vessel.
These small ships were specially
built to deliver fresh pineapple and other fruits from Dole. To maintain the freshness of pineapple, the ship delivers a whole load of refer-containers only.
The hatch cover had to be designed with a good ventilation capacity inside the
in-hold cargo, and the lashing bridge should support a power supply to refer
containers on the deck.
